There are a million (maybe more!) sites about astronomy out there.
These are just a few of my own personal favorites: Pictures of the
Day:
Read about what's visible in the evening sky at
Flandrau
Planetarium's Monthly Skywatcher's Guide.
See what's going on out there at
Space Weather.
Hear about astronomy by listening to
Let's Talk Stars with David &
Wendee Levy
Listing of the many observatories around Tucson:
Silicon Owl's Tucson Area
Observatories
An awesome site with great photos, free software, etc:
Dean Salman's galaxies.com
See a calendar of organized Star Parties

Equipment and Vendors:
- Software Bisque
- TheSky and Paramount mounts are industry
standards.
- Meade Telescopes
- Meade produces more telescopes than
just about anybody.
- Celestron Telescopes
- Celestron also produces excellent
telescopes and mounts.
- William Optics
- WO produces high quality, reasonably
priced optics, especially refractors.
- SBIG CCD Cameras
- Technology in astrophotography has
resulted in major advances. SBIG makes some of the
best CCD cameras.
- CCDWare
- Publisher of "can't-live-without"
imaging software.
- Televue Eyepieces
- These high-end eyepieces are
expensive but really do give better views than many
cheaper ones.
- Coronado
Instruments
- Manufacturer of solar
telescopes, owned by Meade. The sun is actually quite dynamic and
fun to observe.
- Starizona
- We are fortunate to have two
local astronomy shops in Tucson.
- Stellar Vision
- Another great Tucson shop.
