Astronomy provides many opportunities to learn and study
new things. Here are a few of the projects that are currently
being worked on at Xanadu Observatory:
- Recently Observed Objects -
to see a brief listing of recently observed celestial
objects.
- Spectroscopy - One of my favorite astronomical
endeavors is to study the light from distant objects using a
spectroscope. For more information click on the "Spectroscopy"
link at left.
- Double Stars - There are many types of double
stars. I'm currently enjoying observing both visual
doubles and visual binaries. The
Astronomical League (AL)
has an observing program that I'm currently working on.
- Sky Puppies - Here's one of my sons enjoying a
night out with Dad.
-

-
Molecular
Clouds Near the Galactic Anticenter - I've also been involved
with research using the
Heinrich Hertz
Submillimeter Wave Telescope on Mt. Graham, Arizona.
The 10-meter SMT is capable of producing very high
resolution maps. Initial surveys focused on HII
regions in Gemini.
